Welcome aboard the USS Jerusalem!

Welcome aboard the site of the USS Jerusalem sim! USS Jerusalem is an Ascension-class starship, NCC-65168, currently assigned to Task Force 23, "Chimera", Task Group 23C, "The Sirens", of the Seventh (or Theta) Fleet.

The Jerusalem is an odd duck: A ship of war in a Starfleet primarily devoted to peaceful exploration, she is in many ways a ship similar to the aircraft carriers or amphibious ships of 20th and 21st-century Earth. Her orders are simple and clear: Patrol the Romulan Neutral Zone and wherever else assigned, utilizing the ship's company, and her onboard Aerospace and Marine units, to project Federation power where and when necessary to advance the interests of the United Federation of Planets, and accomplish such specific missions as may be assigned from time to time. Sometimes it'll be combat, sometimes it'll be recon, sometimes it'll be diplomacy. Sometimes, it'll just require presence, showing the flag in a hostile neighborhood. Who knows? We'll write her story together.

Kind regards,

Captain John Williams
Commanding Officer, USS Jerusalem

» Current Sim Status as of 5 June 2017

Posted on Thursday June 1st, 2017 @ 9:03am by Captain John Williams in Out of Character

An update on our current status for those who don't play on the Jerusalem, as of 1033 US Eastern Standard Time on 5 June 2017:

1. Current positions taken are: CO, XO, Chief Engineering Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Chief Medical Officer, Chief Security Officer, and CAG. 2XO is a position held by someone already a department head, so isn't available to someone applying on its own. (At some point, once we have most DH positions filled in a stable fashion, I will select a 2XO from the department heads.) Marine Detachment CO, Chief Ops Officer, Chief Combat Operations Officer (AKA Tactical, split off from Security), Chief Counselor, and Chief Intelligence Officer positions are open. We're most looking for a Marine Detachment CO or Chief Combat Operations Officer, but will happily accept players looking for Chief Ops Officer or Chief Intelligence Officer positions. (Chief Counselor is available, but only after I've explained to you what I'm looking for in that position, to prevent misunderstandings on both sides.)

2. Applications are being accepted for review at any time. If you contact me and I see the contact attempt (applications to join, as well as contact form submissions, both get sent to me as emails - or should!), I promise a reply within 72 hours, even if that reply is "Let me get back to you".

3. As to our IC situation: We've just finished our shakedown cruise and have arrived at Starbase 39-Sierra, our homeport along the Romulan Neutral Zone. As we are in severe need of players, I am taking time to recruit and integrate new players before we move on. We are set in February 2392, but after our next mission (which will occur in March 2392) we may jump the timeline ahead a few months to the end of 2392 or into 2393. I haven't decided yet. Our next mission, "Lion Passant", will begin on 7 June 2017.

Should you have any questions or comments (or want to join!), please feel free to contact me via the contact page. Otherwise, welcome to the Jerusalem, and enjoy your visit.

Kind regards,

The player behind Captain John Williams, CO USS Jerusalem

» New rule

Posted on Monday March 7th, 2016 @ 7:35am by Captain John Williams in General News

New rule, added to the rules page this morning:

"11. New players must post their first post within one week of the CO hitting the accept button on their application, or be removed without further warning. Exceptions will be freely made if you communicate with the CO."

Reasoning should be obvious: Players joining and then disappearing is really, really frustrating.
